And me and Owen, you know, like there's a whole gang down there in West Cork, but myself and Owen, he used to come up and visit us in Wicklow quite a lot around Blessington and it was a nice place for him to go as a kind of a check out and a bit of a respite.
It was like a kind of a retreat for him being up with us in a way.
And a lot of the places that I had,
gone with my grandmother as a kid you know a lot of the places that remind me of her are places that I brought own after she had passed away and I have all these memories being there with him now as well What kind of a guy was he?
He was somebody who like thought incredibly deeply about things, was just fascinated by all kinds of culture.
We used to love watching Japanese films together and playing video games and driving around in the car talking about books and he didn't drink and we never went for pints.
We didn't, there was none of that kind of thing.
Our entire relationship was drinking coffees and talking about good things and
It was a very wholesome relationship that the two of us had together.
We also happened to be in the same places internationally a lot, you know, like random places, which was weird, you know.
He would reach out, like, I remember meeting him in Cleveland one time and just walking around Cleveland with him.
Or he called me one night, he was in Brooklyn and I happened to be there and the two of us basically just walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in the middle of the night together, just cycling around on city bikes and just having the crack and chatting and...
He was just the best and an extremely loving person.
And his music is extraordinary.
He was brilliant right from the get-go, but he really matured as an artist over the years.
And right before he became unwell, things had really clicked and he was sucking diesel big time.
And it really felt like he was just on the cusp of...
You know, the whole thing really just translating for him.
And he was working with beautiful people.
He was working with like Oliver Arnold and he was working with John Hopkins and yeah, really cool folks.
