Absolutely.
China is really seizing on this.
They see this as a major opportunity.
I just mentioned the World AI Cooperation Organization that had its inaugural meeting in July.
And one of the key topics I have to say that is really very recent.
Yeah.
One of the main topics at this uh meeting was regulation.
And uh China is saying very clearly it wants to regulate AI, it wants regulations around technological monitoring, early warning, emergency response.
I already mentioned the fact that it wants to have a human in control.
The important thing about this WICO, as it's called, the World AI Cooperation Organization, is that it's a multiple
Mulateral organization.
There are 29 members, almost all of them from the global south.
And so China's vision is to bind the global south to its vision of an AI future by including them in the drafting process of the AI regulations.
And if we consider that there are about 130 countries in the global south, it's by far the biggest.
Part of the world, China wants to win AI globally and AI regulation by binding the global south to it through the uh auspices of this WICO organization and let its rules on AI run around the world.
So China sees this as a massive, massive opportunity for itself.
I mean to me the big question facing countries in the West is whether or not to go the China route or to go the US route.
I think this is more and more a fundamental question, uh whether or not we ally ourselves not just with USAI, but the entire US technology stack.
Absolutely.
I mean my my starting point is that the US and China are such implacable rivals that they will not come to an accommodation on a global AI standard.
