Like I know a lot of people, myself included, whose relationships post divorce were much more fulfilling because I know what I don't want.
I still am not quite sure what I want, but I know what I don't want.
You know, my mom used to say, It's hard to define intelligence, but I can spot stupid a mile away.
So maybe what intelligence is is just the absence of stupid.
Like, so I don't quite know what I want in a relationship, but man, I can tell you all the things I don't want, many of which I've lived through.
I don't want myself to turn into X, Y, and Z.
I don't want a partner who does A, B, and C.
Like, so you've got a much better sense now of what works and what doesn't.
And I think that that is a superpower if you let it be.
And it can create for you opportunities to become the most authentic version of yourself and to find someone who helps you become the most authentic version of yourself and who appreciates the
most authentic version of you.
You don't have to do it the same way you did it in that relationship.
And the sooner that you get in touch with that and realize you have that in the pantry of your emotional life, like you can start cooking with those ingredients.

Like where is it you're trying to go?
Most people like they're they feel like they it's weather.
Their life is just something happening to them as opposed to something that they have any real design on.
