Sort of beautiful and humbling things for me about what I see in my work is that, you know, early in my career, I represented, you know, like the cop and the teacher, you know, the W-2 wage earner, you know, a couple of kids, they have a house, they got some debt.

And now I represent, you know, billionaires and athletes and celebrities.

And some of the people I represent are like the highest performing, most talented people in the world.

And they're just as bad at relationships as anybody else.

Like they're brilliant, a brilliant surgeon, a brilliant mathematician, quant person, you know, a CEO or C-suite executive of a Fortune 50 company.

and they're just not good at staying connected right like staying in a happy relationship having the sort of presence that enables them to do that and it's it really isn't something we get any kind of an education in like we watch our parents maybe we watch the people around us we consume a lot of media you know we watch a lot of like

romantic comedies and depictions of what love's supposed to look like.

But, you know, having your education on what relationships look like by watching TV and movies is like having sex education by watching porn.

Like, it's not real.

That's a stylized version of things.

So we don't necessarily talk about this stuff.

And

after 20 something years of watching the wheels come off of people's relationships and having a really honest conversation with them, as you have to have when you're a lawyer, I realized, like, you know, you can figure out a lot about how to keep things together by watching how they fall apart.

And that's really how the book happened.

And I never really saw this chapter of of my life coming.

Like, I never imagined that, you know, post 50

I would suddenly be in a where I'm not representing celebrities only.

Now I'm like stopped on the street and people know me.

And it's amazing.

It's an amazing thing.
