What does that tell you?
That tells you this has catastrophically failed.

Why?
Because it's that important.
Because we need it that bad.

We want it so badly.
It's that fundamental to us.
It's like breathing.
We need love and connection, period.
So not only has it not soured me on love,
It has had the opposite effect.
It has made me realize how precious love is, how important love is, how finite and potentially fragile love is.
Like, I'm a romantic, but I don't believe in fairy tales.
I think fairy tales are useful to tell us principles and virtues that might inspire us to be better.
