What does that mean?
Well, it means exactly communication.
A cybernetic system is one, is the idea started by Norbert Wiener that
there is a way based on communication for systems to almost regulate themselves.
And they do that through feedback loops.
Very quick example, clear example, a thermostat.
Temperature to the thermostat has some kind of central processing mechanism that you say, okay, 20 degrees C is what we want in this room.
It sends out sensors into the environment.
It receives when the temperature drops, let's say, to whatever, 19, 18, it receives back this information.
There's the feedback.
And it has a corrective programming mechanism.
automation to go, okay, we sent out our sensor.
It told us that it's 19.
We now act to make it go up to 20, right?
And it acts like that in a continuous feedback loop.
What that needs is clear information.
It needs the feedback coming from the environment to be clear.
It needs to know, okay, it's 19.
It can't be, oh, yeah, it's 19, but actually it's 16.
It needs clear information chunks.
