But what I've come to in the past year or two when I work now is I can't perform a body.
I have to just play a woman that walks the way I walk and moves the way I move.
And it doesn't have to be a storyline, but this comes with me, and I know it's not going to work for everything.
But to be able to say that now –
I feel like I'm finally doing the type of work I've always wanted to do.
It's allowed me to have this freedom of just accepting that I'm a disabled woman.
And that took me a really long time to say.
It's exhausting.
It's so exhausting.
Because you're coming to terms – like you're dealing with something in your own world, in your own head.
And then you're having to sort of deal with a public perception of it, which –
I think is so beautiful that you are using your voice and your platform and it's a gift that you're giving people and that's kind of what I'm hoping to do in my own way.
But I think it's also releasing the shame around it.
And I didn't realize how much shame I was carrying with me about living with this because I would look at anyone that has MS and I'm like,
Fucking go.
You are strong.
You are a warrior.
You own it.
Why couldn't I feel that way about myself?
And when I came public about it, there was a real undoing for me of letting my guard down and letting people see how I moved and walked because I had robbed myself of the MS community, which are so incredibly beautiful.
