So not everything about religion is bad.
And I'll say the same thing, you know.
Looking in from my side of the fence to the other side of the fence, I think, you know, the Catholic Church has had a roasting in arts and literature in the last decade or so.
And a lot of that is absolutely right and proper.
But within the Catholic Church, there were also some people who were doing amazing things.
There were some practices that feel wonderful.
You know, I can't believe as a Balamina Reyes Protestant, one of the people I find most aspiring in the world at the minute is the Pope.
And I keep looking at what he's saying and how he's standing up to injustice and thinking, I don't agree with all of your theology, but there's something quite inspiring about how you are, I think, using biblical truth to challenge some of the awful things that are happening in the world.
Absolutely.
And as well as like it's a small minority of people that have
been difficult and a huge majority of folks that grew up in this world and have not really seen it represented anywhere in the literature that's coming out of the north and they're really grateful and it gives them a space to validate their own experience but also to begin difficult conversations
So I've had every kind of like experience of evangelical Protestantism come up to me and be like, you know, I read your book and then I gave it to my dad or I read your book and I gave it to my minister and I asked him to read it.
And that that feels really healthy.
And yeah, it's quite it's quite humbling to hear that.
We can have a moment together after this and give you a tract.
I do think there is in this kind of Trumpy world at the minute, there has been a huge rise of
the kind of fundamentalist evangelicals again.
And, you know, that really tight religion that I grew up with, and that scares me a bit.
I thought we had progressed beyond that, or particularly young people were more questioning and curious.
Like, it is really scary to see that, and it's tied up in that kind of movement with the trad wife stuff and the, you know, this is what a proper family looks like, and this is...
