A couple of really excellent biographies of O'Neill and some books about Loch Nye.
And then I wrote the story, but made little notes of I must go back and find out more about this.
So the big thing was everybody gets around on boats and I have never driven a boat.
I don't even know if you drive a boat.
I was just going to say, do you drive boats or more of them or something?
So I had people parking boats and like putting the brakes on boats and had to go back and get a boat expert to help me with some of the language there.
There's five of them.
RJ is the dad and he's a very eminent social anthropologist based out of Queens.
It's fair to say he's not a terribly nice man.
One of the themes in this book is toxic masculinity and particularly how toxic masculinity manifests if it's, you know, later on in life.
So we also meet his son, Robert John, a bit later on in life as well as in his younger days.
And his father has not been found.
he's been pretty abusive with Robert John.
So I wanted to explore what that looks like.
There's a lot of fantastic pieces of work recently on toxic masculinity in young men, but I haven't seen anything very much about the repercussions of what happens if you're subject to that horrible kind of abusive idea of what it means to be a man and it goes unchecked all the way through your life.
So we have Robert John and then we have Ursula, who's RJ's wife.
She's a German and she's
She's been travelling around the world with him and she's quite a fearful woman.
She grew up between the wars in Germany.
The idea of the conflict in Northern Ireland really terrifies her.
