that was very much a time of I guess that chapter's over because if you haven't got the commitment to go and train and your new career is pulling you so much more, it was it was time.
That's that's a great question.
And um
I think I'm one of the lucky ones in truth.
Because I have a career that I'm going to that is far more rewarding than anything I've done in the past.
Possibly not on a, you know, a front in terms of media and attention and
I I just love I absolutely love my job and every day being with birthing women and seeing new life and sitting with a patient who may have lost a baby or who has been got a new c cancer diagnosis is just
incredibly I feel so privileged to be in that position.
And don't get me wrong, I I loved my sport and there are definitely days where I get nostalgic.
Um it might be, for example, at one particular place, going to Canberra in the AIS still makes me feel a bit emotional.
Because so much of my career success was there, but also the failures were there and
Um I still drive past that stadium and get that like sick feeling in my tummy.
But then I am one of those persons that as I said before, I love the balance of it that just goes, Yes, but
If you continued in sport, you now wouldn't be a doctor and you're a doctor for life.
I think I'm really lucky that I have found something that I'm head over heels in love with.
And unfortunately I have seen it.
I have lost friends to suicide.
I've lost
friends to drugs and depression post sport who just did not make that transition well.
