And then, of course, you have the political revolutions in the 1800s with Napoleon and the French and American revolutions.
The Vatican was opposed to those because it threatened their traditional model of power.
so important to recognize the Catholic Church will always resist change.
The biggest revolution that they've always been facing has been non-human experiences that challenge the theology that they're built on.
That's why if you go through history,
You look at, for example, Fatima.

So they changed this tantalizing situation into something more manageable.

They were told anyone who's involved in that is demonic, and they were basically put to death.
And, you know, there's so many examples here where any time a non-human experience challenges the Vatican's message, it gets constrained and reformatted.
So when it comes to the 20th century, the UFO wave is growing.
what is the vatican going to do are they going to acknowledge this and deal with it openly or is it more advantageous for them to spread this demonic hypothesis and to try and prevent people from engaging with it saying too dangerous we can't study this we must ensure that no one else looks at it either
And the kicker for me is this, the person who is running the Air Force Office of Special Investigations in the era when it started the original Collins Elite programs, this is the 40s, the one that Redfern refers to, was a devout Roman Catholic who actually had really wanted to go into the ministry, but was encouraged by some powerful people to not go into the ministry, but instead go into intelligence.
And so this is an individual who fundamentally, first and foremost, answers to the Pope, answers to religious groups, rather than the Air Force or the President.
