When I joined, I had a couple of people that were interested in joining my team and I would look at their resume and it's like, oh my God, you could work anywhere.
NASA, Goldman Sachs, right?
You could basically like write your own ticket.
And I was like, why do you want to work here?
And what was interesting at the time was one of the common threads was Salesforce gets it.
Salesforce seems like it's trying to be different.
Whether we believe that it's authentic or not, those people were buying into that and otherwise wouldn't have applied to Salesforce unless they really believed in that purpose, right?
So I think if you step back, what these companies are good at is creating a platform, not just a tech platform, but very broadly speaking, a platform where people feel that they can bring their individual passions to those platform, meld those together, and it becomes a win-win.
And I think that's what these great organizations are really, really good at.
Because, you know, we talked about Elon Musk before.
You know, I'm sure Elon is also working on longevity and trying to live for 300 years.
But the reality is he's not going to be here forever.
Right.
And the ultimate test of, you know, a great culture is can the leader step away?
The leader retires, gets hit by a bus, whatever it is.
And not only is that organization, that community able to like go on, but are they able to thrive even more with that leader gone?
To me, that's ultimately the test.
So when I see these headlines around like buying talent, you know, I have mixed feelings like, wow, good job, dude.
Another member of the billionaire club.
