And now it's like you ask a middle schooler what they want to be and they want to be a YouTuber.
And I heard AOC actually say that her cousin or nephew thought that's literally what they were.
It's like, oh, aren't you a YouTuber?
She's like, no, I'm a politician.
But I think the pendulum has swung so far to the left from where it was even, what, 10 years ago.
And so because now the standard is to be online all the time,
privacy, in-person things, like not being online is becoming kind of like the weird thing and the thing that kind of people are kind of looking at like, oh, like, what's that?
I saw an incredible Threads post and Threads is like one of my favorite platforms right now.
And it was like 90s, like don't talk to strangers online.
And then like 2020s, only talk to strangers online.
Yeah.
And you actually make a great point about
kind of, even though people aren't carrying a lot of things, like it's like, there needs to be a, and you know this as someone who works in the field, but so much of what we buy is about identity, right?
It's not function.
You're not like, sometimes you probably have enough shoes, you probably have a bajillion free tote bags you've gotten from like a random event you went to.
Like you have things to functionally do stuff, right?
But like, why we purchase things is to express something like about ourselves or who we want to be.
And I feel like that shift.
