My name is Kalea Wen.
I'm from Braemar.
And before then, I was from West Virginia.
And I was really lucky to move to this area.
My dad got a much better job.
And because of that, I got into much better schools.
I went to Cedar Point Elementary School.
I went to Marsteller Middle School.
And I finished at Patriot High School.
I recently graduated from William and Mary with a degree in physics.
And I'll be beginning my PhD working with quantum computers at the University of Maryland.
Now, I'm not in any way calling myself a scientist.
I'm a scientist in training at best.
But I can say that I have worked with real scientists and experts.
And for the last four years, I've been devoted to trying to be an expert, trying to study things, trying to read things, trying to be able to understand subjects that are even outside of my field, which is quantum computing.
Now, I can tell you my humble opinion that I understand why this was delayed.
So I'm asking for the future kids like me who are so lucky to be in this area, so lucky to have these wonderful schools and these wonderful opportunities, the kids that were my friends who lived in Tardin Hills, close to these substations,
I'm asking that you try and make this a good place for them just like it was for me.
