Appearances
It feels like we played three games and
kind of rapid succession and won all of them and you just have to yeah you have to play that day you know candidly in the middle of april we had all of our relievers hurt i was concerned about the run we're going to go on and we went up winning 10 in a row so this is a funny sport that way um i didn't expect to win 10 in a row with without any healthy relievers at that point so um you never know what's going to happen in baseball you got to focus on that night's game um
And then, you know, go from there.
But certainly, you know, Craig and everyone, they've been earning their money going through the pitching possibilities for the next week.
And the doubleheader didn't help things.
So this is a challenging week, but we're going to get through it.
Still unclear.
I mean, I think what we really want is positive news that he's
he's healthy and that he's you know can work his way back and um i think that's that's kind of where we are you know whether or not he can help us at the end of the season or not i think is unclear i think it's probably unrealistic to think that he's going to be fully stretched out at any point so um if he does help us i think it's going to be a shorter burst but you know
Now, looking at Justin's career and then obviously looking at next year, I think we really want the really good version of Justin Steele.
I think that's something that we need to avoid that we feel as a team, for sure.
And it's been a long time since we had him on the mound.
And so any positive news is great.
But I think expecting...
starts this year is unrealistic.
We have to hope they, you know, potentially come back, um, at the end of the year and help us, um, and improve health and improve health going into the off season so that we know, um, we've got, you know, a really good picture for next year.
This hour is brought to you by Menards, everybody.
Jed Hoyer, the Cubs president of baseball operations, joining us now on Rahimi Harrison-Grody on 104.3 The Score.
Jed, thanks for coming on with us today.
We're good.
