And sometimes when that love is big enough, it's more than just something that is displayed or shown to other people.
It's something that draws other people.

Now, here in our passage today, Jesus connects with our widespread desire to display love, but he does so in a way that might challenge many of us.
Look at how he expects his followers to exhibit their feelings toward him in John chapter 14, verse 15.
He says this If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
That's quite the countercultural take on love, isn't it?
For many people today, this connection between love and obedience can be nothing but an oxymoron.
How can love and obedience possibly go together?
Now there's a lot to say about the wonderful intersection between love and obedience in the Bible, but at a fundamental level, we can remember that the commandments of Jesus and the commandments of God across the entire Bible.
