You know, these are the guys, the player development coaches are the ones that stay out long after a morning skate with the healthy scratches.
They work with the injured guys to rehab them and get them back into playing shape and all that type of stuff.
So it's not just working on, you know, six foot passes along the boards and that type of stuff.
There's a broad range.
the job description that comes with player development.
And again, for a team right now that's in the throes of this rebuild and needs all the development help it can get, I'm going to be really interested to see how they go about trying to fill some of those holes.
I have trouble believing that they're going to bring in three different faces to replace the three that were on the ice last year in that capacity.
So let's see where it goes.
Matt, just one other quick thing, because I think we know how dark the decade has been, right?
And there hasn't been a lot of winning.
But one area that this organization, I think, deserves its props at the very least is success.
They may not have put a ton of players through the farm system to the National Hockey League, but damn it, if you don't look at the list of coaches that have been in the Canucks farm system that are now working in the National Hockey League, going back to Travis Green and Nolan Baumgartner and Jason King were all together down in Utica.
They all at some point were behind the Canucks bench.
Trent Cull is in Calgary now.
Jeremy Colleton, he took a step back from being a head coach, but he got back to the NHL in New Jersey.
He had an assistant by the name of Jeff Lomer who took a job with the San Jose Sharks.
And now you've got Matty Maholter and Jordan Smith.
Like, by my count, that's eight coaches that have been behind the bench of the Canucks minor league affiliate in the last decade.

I would think that stacks up with any other team and any other organization in the National Hockey League, but it kind of flies under the radar a little bit.
