Whereas with us, it was just go.
Anyway, I mean, I trained on a broken ankle for two years.
After I left the sport.
Well, I didn't know it was broken until I was 40.
So it was this.
It was like a fat, like a grapefruit and purple.
And I had a doctor who said it's fine.
He was very much in cahoots with my coaches.
So he would just wave me back out.
He would come to our gym every few weeks and give me shots of cortisone.
I was underage.
Didn't ask my parents.
Just shoot me up with cortisone so I could keep going.
Then when I left the sport, that same doctor...
finally did an MRI and said, well, he didn't say it was broken.
He said, you have bone chips.
I'll take them out.
So he took those out.
Then when I was 40 and I had continued to deteriorate, I went to a different doctor and he asked me when the car accident was.
