You can recover from, but instead it's something that you have to form almost with therapy and whatnot to actually work more together as a system.

Because as incredible it is, you know, when you're surviving trauma as you're going into adulthood.

you know, some of them can, you know, it can actually be destructive, you know, towards, but the thing is that it's not, this is where the stigma as well is that, you know, and this is unfortunately where the Hollywood films and whatnot have really, I'm not dangerous, you know, like there's, it's, I, it is very much that a part might be punishing myself,

you know, it's very much inflicted upon yourself rather than externally, you know, but again, that is my experience.

And every individual with DID is different.

You know, I think that, I think the biggest thing though is, is acceptance within yourself, but also the people around you.

And once, once, once I started to have that support around me that,

people just accepted my quirky and bizarre self, you know.

I have so many random skills, you know.

I can pick up skills very quickly, for instance.

You know, like I can skate, I can surf, you know, I can do those things.

I can...

bizarrely sometimes just start writing with my left hand.

I'm able to, I don't know basic mathematics, but I can do calculus.

Wow.

Yeah.

All of those half of random things, you know, I can, I can actually, you know, that sometimes be able to, to switch off.

Like I, I, I'm able to switch off to pain basically.

So that, and that becomes problematic because, um, you know, if I'm, for instance, you know, going into, to actually get something out of the oven, um,

I won't actually feel myself burning because my brain actually is able to switch off
