Our mornings suddenly matter a whole lot more.

For us specifically this year, it looks different than last year.

And it's not by a ton, but it's by just enough.

My youngest is now going to preschool three days a week.

She used to go two days, and that may not sound like a huge difference, but that means I need another lunch to pack every week.

It's a small change, but it's three lunches for my toddler instead of two.

So it's another morning to prepare for her to exit the house.

So it's just an adjustment to the normal rhythm we got used to last year.

My middle daughter is heading into first grade.

So guess what?

Homework, it's going to become a much bigger part of our after-school routine.

We have to take that into consideration now because she will have homework that is due.

My oldest is starting third grade, which this year, that means TCAP testing is here.

That's in Tennessee.

I don't know if that's everywhere in the States, but we have TCAP, and that's when they can actually hold you back on those results.

And so...

Naturally, there's more pressure surrounding this school year for her.

And what's interesting is that she's incredibly capable.

School has not been a struggle for her, but she's nervous.

I don't think she's nervous about the test itself.
