When one side becomes too heavy, you begin to lean.
Eventually, something starts to wobble or break and you completely fall.
Picture teaching your kids how to ride a bike.
They had to learn how to keep their weight centered and apply pressure to both sides of the pedals equally.
And then they have to adjust when they start to lean too far in one direction.
I see it with my girls in gymnastics.
They're doing the balance beam or trying to do a handstand or hold a position.
They cannot put their weight all on one side.
They have to make small adjustments to remain steady.
Motherhood works the same.
It's identical.
On the left side of the beam, we'll stick with gymnastics since that's what my kids do.
That's what life requires from you.
The kids, school schedules, sports, cleaning, meal planning, laundry, organizing, appointments, communication with your children and your spouse, all the logistics.
Those responsibilities and needs you manage every day are sitting on the left side of the beam.
Well, then on the right side, guess what, mama?
That's the side you ignore.
That's the support that restores you, your health goals, your fitness goals, your personal routines.
What do you want your home organized like?
What's self-care mean to you?
