And in the people that I talk to, that number is higher.
And so that is part of it.
But because we're back-to-back, rush, rush, rush, not down-regulating, no restoration, no relaxation –
just stimulation, adrenaline, cortisol.
When we get to bed, our stress hormones are still so high that throughout the night we are waking and we're not sleeping well.
And so it's these micro moments, just downregulate, like have some sort of reflection or relaxation before you get to bed.
Because even if you can get to sleep, I used to see the issue was more getting to sleep.
But now what I see when I survey people and talk to people is
It's the waking and the inability to get back to sleep.
And we're just, our brains are on, they're driving.
We haven't consolidated the day or we're thinking about tomorrow.
So if we can create a little ritual or something before we go to bed to do that, like a lot of people for me that I work with, hot shower and just a notepad, a couple of things, three things that went well today, three things I want to do tomorrow.
That is enough to break that circuit.
We can chat.
That's the thing.
I guess all of this, like the screens, the technology, creating relaxation, it's really about getting your brain to go from high activity into relaxation because that isn't just an automatic switch.
So whatever that is for the individual, what is that?
It's creating.
Do you feel that your kind of sleep and wake times are consistent?
Yep.
