As our understanding of genetics unfolds, we are learning more about what causes traits like handedness.
What we do know today is that there's no single left-handed gene.
It's more like a cocktail of small influences all mixing together.
Oh no, yeah.
Lefties are rare.
Only about 10% of the world's population is left-handed.
Right.
And get this.
Statistics also show men are slightly more likely to be left handed than women.
If you're a man, you have about a 12 percent chance.
Women, 10 percent.
Why that is, is still a complete unknown.
I mean, it's not a huge difference, but statistically significant.
