Because you can imagine, I mean, these people can't go to work.

There's all sorts of competing demands, and so many of them leave the workforce.

We're seeing this really accelerate with COVID, as you can imagine, because of all the other things that come along with COVID, which include the danger of the virus and bringing extra support in the home.

The shutting down of things like adult day programs so that people can't go out of the home to get any other support.

And the fact that, you know, a lot of jobs are lost just because we're losing so many jobs over this past year.

So the challenges, the financial challenges on carriers are just profound.

And like every other social issue in our world, they particularly impact people of color, women, and people of lower socioeconomic status.

And it's a really unsustainable situation.

But I didn't talk about the other things, which are the physical deterioration.

Caregivers don't have time for their own health.

A large proportion of caregivers stop doing their own preventive health.

Many, many caregivers become depressed and isolated, as you can imagine.

And let's not forget that the vast majority of caregiving doesn't happen when someone's actually dying or qualifying for hospice.

So even those benefits that we talked about with hospice aren't applicable

to the majority of caregivers and their care recipients.

People live with this for years.

Dementia, you can imagine, 10 years sometimes.

I mean, long periods of time.

So there's a statistic, I believe, and I hope I'm correct, 30% of dementia caregivers die before the care recipient, which is
