No comment yet from the FAA or Pentagon, but Democratic Congressman Rick Larson of the House Transportation Committee says the White House decided to sidestep coordination between the Pentagon, DHS, and the FAA when it comes to the anti-drone system.

He said that was short-sighted.

Earlier this month, the FAA halted air traffic for several hours at El Paso International Airport in Texas.

That closure also due to a laser-based anti-drone system.
