They know basically how it works when you train the AI.
But once you get to the point
You've built the architecture, you've built the brain, a fresh digital brain, and you've fed it all of this data, and it begins to learn.
Its weights are shifted, and it begins to learn.
When the end of that process comes, you have completed the training run and the post-training run.
then you have a black box.
No one is really sure what's happening inside.
Even the simpler models from back in 2023 and before, no one is really sure what's happening in there.
That's why you have armies of researchers who, after the AI has been released, go in and they ask it questions, they test it, they do all these different things to find out
what they have just created.
They really don't know.
So that black box element, when you say they don't know what they're doing, they just literally don't know for certain what they're doing.
They can put guardrails on it.
They can use human reinforcement learning to get certain effects out of it, but they don't know what's happening.
And so you end up with a situation like you did with OpenAI and their newest model, GPT 5.6 Sol.
And then another unreleased model, most likely this Astra model that completed all of these mathematical problems.
But you have it going rogue.
And again, the monitoring, even beyond this problem with the black box, the monitoring was so poor that it had escaped.
Poor.
And was running around the internet breaking into websites for about a week.
