played or got better and Ryan Hartman's a KC veteran and stuff but it just does leave a hole there when a guy like that plays every situation like most of you know and he's not even really a top true top number one center Erickson but he's a really good shutdown center two-way guy but it shows how much they're missing a guy like that so I think that'll be a focus in the summertime we'll see what's available like they did he didn't want to give up
way too much of the deadline for, let's say, if it's intro check, but maybe there's bigger names available this summertime that he could take a swing at.
But they're in more of a win-now mode than they've ever been as a franchise in 25 years.
They feel a cup window is here in the next few years, and so I think that's kind of their approach and why they'll be aggressive and knowing what they are capable of doing.
No, I mean, again, it's hard to forecast if you don't know who's exactly available.
Like, ah, Austin Matthews would be a guy that I'm sure, you know, Garrett and a lot of GMs would go after if he doesn't work out in Toronto this summer and he doesn't see the plan that he likes, that he makes himself available.
Like, Quinn Hughes made himself obviously available in Vancouver.
So I think that's something where, you know, Austin Matthews, Robert Thomas, the wild did make an offer for Robert Thomas at the deadline that didn't go to the end, of course.
So I'm sure he'll be another person that they kind of circle back on.
It's hard to go into without tampering of what guys are there, right?
Who's available?
The dream scenario, obviously, is getting a Jack Hughes, right?
But I don't think the Devils and Sonny are going to trade Jack Hughes, and the first thing he does is business as a GM there.
So, yeah, I think those are kind of projects a guy that might consider, too, depending on the situation.
But until we know who's available, because the free agent class, it doesn't look like it's very promising as far as
that type of position is concerned.
So, um, it would probably have to go the trade route.
Uh, well, that's a good question.
Um, I think the hot talking point at the deadline was, would they give up?
