Young, English speaking, don't know where they are, might be in the UK, might be in France.
They contacted a lot of journalists, including me, on Monday night saying, we have hacked the FBI.
We've got every single employee's data and details.
So that includes first names, last names, badge numbers, home addresses, phone numbers, spouse information as well.
38,000 employees of the FBI.
And obviously a lot of those officers will be secretive and need to stay out of the public eye.
So it's a very serious cyber attack.
They've sent me a small sample, which I've looked at and it looks legitimate.
Other journalists have downloaded a larger sample that they're offering.
And it looks like there's some even more serious stuff in there.
So, for example, information about ongoing operations against the cartel, some sort of there's some discussions about Chinese and Russian operations as well.
They are extorting the FBI publicly on their Telegram and on their Darknet website.
Not for money though, weirdly.
Normally, obviously, Shiny Hunters and others, they ask for money.
These guys are now asking for the FBI, bizarrely, to retract a statement that the FBI put out about Shiny Hunters in May because they are, quote, offended.
There's loads of other nonsense they've put on their Darknet site.
I won't give them the airtime.
But it is a sign for me that this motive is kind of like it's nonsense.
But they are just trying to embarrass the FBI, which some would say is a really bad move.
Yeah, I think the interesting thing here is that China and America are in a rivalry here.
