It was like, holy shit, like I'm really gonna do this now.
Whatever this is, I'm gonna go do it for real now.
And I remember when we touched down, I was part of the the early group that arrived in country.
You you don't, it isn't like your whole SEAL team just like goes at once and you show up and just start doing stuff.
It's it's like a rotation of people that go in.
Sometimes you go in weeks ahead of the rest of your team and
you typically get to wherever you're gonna be stationed and which for seals is a lot of times like in these sort of out stations that are out in the middle of nowhere.
You you turn over with the team that's currently there, who's been doing this now for months.
And so we turned over with SEAL team eight.
And so I got in country with I think two other new guys and two other senior guys.
Like five of us arrived in country.
And my understanding is we're gonna, we're gonna get to our out station, we're gonna land at the big base, travel our way out like an hour to our outstation, which is like out in the sticks, sort of.
And
You know, we'll have a couple of weeks at least to learn the ropes, talk to SEAL teammate.
We'll wait for our team to get here.
We'll sort of, you know, get our bearings and then I'll go do Navy SEAL stuff.
That was that was my mental map.
Yeah.
Completely not accurate.
So we we land in Afghanistan and I remember we had to sign this uh I I joked that it was like a permission slip.
