How many miles are they hiking?

We can look it up, but it's it's a decent distance.

This is gonna take weeks to hike through the Ural Mountains.

This is a big hike.

This is a multi week long hike.

And so they off to into the mountains they go and the year all mountains are these huge windswept, just like snow and ice.

There's little pockets of forest down below, but it's mostly like just jagged ice, just peaks everywhere.

And so into the mountains they go.

And then they don't turn up for their they they don't finish the route on time.

I I don't I don't know if they hit one or two of their rendezvous points, but I think it was February twelfth.

of nineteen fifty-nine, they were supposed to be out of there and they weren't.

And remember, the people that are that are overseeing this test, they're talking about these are like the best mountaineers.

And so if they're delayed, no one's like, oh my God, we need to go get them.

It's more like all right, the something happened, they'll be out of here.

So a little bit of time passes.

Uh, and they're they're waiting to hear from them and they still don't come out of the that of the mountains.

No one so a a month goes by and they haven't turned up and the families of these nine hikers are really their concerns.

And they're getting in touch with the university and police.

And finally, they they launch this pretty lame search for the for the hikers.
