So they don't have to go to Brendan little for what feels like the ninth straight game.

I think that'll really help them down the road into the playoffs.

Yeah, if I'm a team and I need both, then I feel that the need is pretty equal between the two.

Then, yeah, I think I might go towards a bat.

Now, I think the thing with rental bats is that, yeah, relievers can slump and they can get touched up for a few outings in a row.

But with rental bats, especially, you know, like Josh Naylor being a first baseman low down on the defensive spectrum, for example.

If those guys slump with the bat, then you're getting nothing from them.

And relievers will ebb and flow, and maybe there will be a few rough outings for Sir Anthony Dominguez that give him a five ERA with the Blue Jays, but that can be very misleading if he gets back on track at the right time, just hypothetically.

So yeah, I think if I'm a team and I say, oh, well, I need a reliever, but I also really need a guy to hit sixth or seventh for me,

The guy who will hit six or seven for me, you know, not any Eugenio Suarez type bat could cost so little where I say, yeah, why not?

And I don't really feel like paying these reliever prices.

I don't know the team necessarily view it as an either or, but there's certainly a higher likelihood that they might be getting scared off by these reliever prices that have been pretty big right now.

Yeah, you know, they have so many guys to trade who affect absolutely nothing about their plans for 2026 because they were going to be free agents.

So if I'm Mike Elias or Mike Hazen, I'm, you know, you don't want to negotiate against yourself and sort of put out the message that, oh, I have to trade this guy.

And so I lose some leverage, but.

there are going to be enough teams that want Merrill Kelly and Zach Allen from the diamondbacks are going to be enough teams that want Cedric Mullins from the Orioles, despite his slumps the last month plus that they should still be able to get a commensurate package for those guys.

So yeah, I mean, if I'm those two guys, even with the guys they've already traded, I'm

still sitting pretty with the guys that I have left available and, you know, telling all the teams like, Hey, we were open for business.

We've got guys that might be a little bit cheaper because they're rentals than, you know, Leo degrees for Mason Miller.

And because of the small sample of two months and because anything can happen in the playoffs, it's entirely possible that, you know, Shelby Miller from the diamondbacks outperforms Mason Miller on the Padres for the rest of the season, because this is a very weird sport.
