As long as PCA stays healthy, I think he's played literally every inning in center field for the Cubs this year.

It's his to lose no problem.

I mean, he's made some

Amazing catches that don't even really register as amazing because his jumps are just so good and he doesn't have to dive and he's just a delight out there.

Yeah, so the big thing with him was he had a very exaggerated leg kick, one of the biggest that I've seen in the majors in recent years.

And it's not to say that that can't work, but it's tough to make it work.

So he switched to more of a lower leg kick toe tap and

that has really helped him drive the ball the other way um instead of just fouling a bunch of pitches off.

So I think that, you know, as long as those changes stick, I I don't see why not.

It's really nice to say, oh, this player changed thing A in his stance, and that leads to B production, which is a lot better.

So he seems very legitimate to me.

He seems like he is

since coming back up, playing to that level of a consensus top thirty or forty prospect in major league baseball.

And oh, by the way, the defense at third base, a position that he's really new to, I think only within the last

year or so um has has looked very good as well.

And third base has been really a black hole for the Cubs the last couple of years and and Shaw looks more than poised to to take a hold of that job over uh everybody else that they've tried out there in the last couple of years.

Yeah, so he's always been as long as he's healthy, a top twenty thirty ish hitter in major league baseball and sort of flying under the radar.

But this year now that he's been healthy, it's often been early season injuries that sort of take him off of those leaderboards.

Um, he's really been able to get national attention.
