And anybody who wants to continue pouring money down the drain into subsidizing diesel uh or other liquid fuels is wasting time and money on the transition.
We need to be in an emergency programme to get solar off the ground.

Yeah, I mean the best transition that you can make.
Now it's not going to work for every farm because you need access to the grid, et cetera, et cetera.
So but for where it suits, this is a terrific thing to do because your typical solar farm involves a a lease arrangement with a farmer for fifteen to twenty years that takes that land out of production.
And at the end of that, by the way, Matt, the the panels can simply be removed and the land under them will be none the worse.
In fact, it'll have rested for fifteen years and it'll be back to you in far better condition.
That's the first thing.
The second thing is that guarantees a high rent, a good, steady income for the farmer, which is far better than he's going to get from having a few cattle on it.
The only people who seem to be really, really unhappy about this are the dairy sector, because of course they've been going around buying up land all around Ireland.
They've they've bought out, they've priced out the tillage farmers, they've priced out the beef farmers, and they're not happy.
And what we're seeing, the pushback at government level, which we're
Hearing through the Minister and other government members is largely a reflection of the pushback by the dairy sector who don't like competition for land when it comes to it.
But I would stress, Matt, that if we achieved our twenty thirty solar targets, which by the way we almost certainly won't, which is eight gigawatts, given that we're only at two now, if we were, that would require, in total, one quarter of one percent of the farmland of Ireland.
And anyone who's
says that we can't spare a quarter of a per cent in order to have eight gigawatts of of solar energy.
