The idea is that we make enough money so that we hopefully don't have to use general fund to do ongoing maintenance.
But when when a cemetery is completely filled up, when it is built out, so to speak, our maintenance obligation.
with respect to that really come down to mowing the grass.
I mean, this is something that the Parks Department can handle.
So when we talk about perpetual maintenance, we're not really talking about substantial amounts of improvement.
These aren't buildings that are going to be falling down.
So I think there's a misnomer when we look at at perpetual care.
The perpetual care ninety percent is what the state has has put in place primarily for privately run cemeteries.
We're following the same guidelines that a privately run cemetery.
Cemetery has, and that's because once a cemetery is filled up, that privately run cemetery no longer has a revenue stream to support the perpetual care of those graves.
We're not in the same position.
The city isn't going anywhere.
We will provide perpetual care for our cemeteries as long as the city exists and cities have perpetual life.
So I I don't have that concern.
I'm just I want to get that out there.
that we're not trying to make money off of our residents when it comes to to h helping them plan for their for the, you know, final needs of their loved ones.
We we need to we need to
you know, get away from that concept that we're trying to maximize revenue off of everybody everywhere we can.
we don't.
That's a policy decision.
