That we would benefit if we if we do ever want to put this in place.
Um that I think this is really ideal for a referendum.
You know, this is the kind of thing where I think our residents really need to weigh in on this.
Um so I really like to explore how we go about doing that.
Um if if this is to ever come back in the future.
That I think that's the way to do it.
So just want those thoughts out there.
I'd love to hear what my colleagues have to say.

I've done my best to try and communicate why.
We've talked about this and the need for hiring additional firefighters for the two stations we have under construction and the one we talked about adding potentially in a couple of years.
I've talked about three men on a truck and just the the the needs to increase our total complement above our current state.
Um but again that's not resonating.
All I'm hearing is just cut everything else.
And so uh we really need an education process.
process on this and and again I think if we're gonna do something this dramatic uh I think a referendum if that's feasible, Dwayne, is really the way to go on this.
I think even if we don't have to, I think it would still be the best way to go.
I mean e even if it turns out that it's not necessarily uh a requirement.
I still think, Mayor, that we really need to put this in front of the voters and let them decide before we do something that clearly is is initially not getting any support from the folks I've talked to.
