Look, the the decision to double purchases or the the actions that doubled purchases by cent central banks in twenty twenty two was a material change to the market.
I mean if you think that average supply of gold is about five thousand tons a year, so about three thousand six hundred tons of mine supply and the balance of that coming from the recycling of old jewellery.
Um they went from buying an average of about five hundred tons a year, so about ten percent of the market, to buying over a thousand tons of the market.
So you suddenly had ten percent of demand come out of nowhere.
So it's obviously played a component, uh played a role
role in in in the gold price's strength in the last few years.
Let's put it this way, if you think that one of the reasons why central banks are buying gold is because they're getting out of the dollar, partly because of the weaponization of of the US dollar by the by the current president and the and the previous and maybe next president, I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.
And centr and emerging market central banks have much less gold as a proportion of their international reserves than does the West.
