So switching into that compassionate voice as often as I can for myself and other people
It's a big part of being sober because when I was drinking, one of those alcoholic traits, which has nothing to do with being drunk, is like, you know, I've heard it said before, but the phrase is the piece of shit at the center of the universe.
You know, like, I'm a piece of shit.
They're a piece of shit.
The world is against me.
I deserve this, but I can't get this.
I'm so terrible.
And that just, all that thinking just feeds me.
The need to drink to escape, to switch it off.
Yeah, I mean, personally, I don't think it matters.
That's a conclusion I've come to.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I've just saved myself the inquiry.
I mean, I could give you examples where it would be both.
So definitely around the time my interest, as a kid, I started to notice alcohol was around the time my dad left and things had been difficult at home.
And then in my teenage years was having a difficult time and definitely isolated.
So there's like nurture points, but also definitely my metabolism treats alcohol differently to some friends of mine.
It makes me feel more in control.
not out of control it makes me feel very uh energized i get excited by it i get excited when i do it i don't get nauseous i don't really get hangovers in the way that friends of mine had
