Because you're right, these are people that I have admired from afar for a while and then formed an individual relationship with because of the work that I do.

For a while.

Yeah.

I think one of the hardest things for me about being a man is understanding how can I access emotional competency without feeling selfish.

And understanding that the world demands of men right now more emotional competency, more understanding of domestic labor, emotional labor, like relational work is really essential.

But thus far in my life and like healing from trauma, I've had to go deep internally and that

makes me feel super selfish and it makes me feel like I'm repeating cycles in my own family unit, like the cycle of my dad.

And and so I'm I'm really struggling with navigating that.

Like what does it mean to work on myself at the same time as maintaining relationships with my family and with the world?

And like it's it's hard.

So I feel a lot of pressure there on like not wanting to be

narcissistic or selfish or go down this whatever like heroes journey that's marketed to us.

Um, but also wanting to know uh admit like I have these competencies I need to build before I'm really like ready to I don't know.

Yeah.

I think you start doing it in proximity with your friends and you think about like if you've never been to therapy before, that's totally fine.

But if you have close friends and you start asking them like what's going on in your life and you just go a little deeper and be like, Okay, like did you, you know, are you what are you stressed about?

And just vent to me, right?

And like understand the experience of receiving some of their candid, like, here's what's kind of blah, blah, blah.
