fits neatly into the narrative that is built around this team.

I felt the same way after this game as I felt after Chicago, after France and Paris, after South Africa and Dublin, and after the All Blacks in Dublin last November.

I think what we're seeing now is the gap is undeniable between Ireland and the top three, six games in a row, all double-digit losses.

Anything can be analyzed in the micro anymore.

I think it's all macro.

And I think this shows the gap that there is between the two sides.

The only thing I would say is that we have a body of evidence that we didn't have in November of 2020.

So I think they're in a really interesting position in the sense that it feels like the top three are getting further away, but it doesn't feel like anybody else is getting any closer to them either.

So they're in a real strange position and it's a real difficult position, I think, for the coaching staff to sort of plop their way forward when so much of what they're doing

remains right and so much of what they're doing remains good but we're seeing this gap widen whether it be in skills and there were a lot of examples and it's touched on some of them there are a lot of examples of just the massive massive difference that a little bit of skill execution makes just that little bit of accuracy most especially for New Zealand's first try but I just think it was more of the same I think it's

We talked last week about this being a good barometer, and I think in looking at it now, using that as a barometer, this team is exactly where we thought they were seven days ago, exactly where we thought they were in the middle of the Six Nations, and exactly where we thought they were coming through November.

I don't think anything's changed for me from that 80 minutes.

I think the key thing is that they make the same mistakes against lesser opposition.

They just don't get punished for it.

You mentioned James Ryan and it's not...

to pile on him but he has had this sort of string of handling errors in recent tests and the difference for me is that whenever you're playing the All Blacks the All Blacks go up the other end and score and try and they deserve to be ahead at that point but they hadn't scored at that point and there's a direct three line between James Ryan spilling that ball

and New Zealand's first try.
