say these next four games, say they go wrong, say England get a draw and three defeats from them, which is perfectly possible against Spain, Czech Republic and Croatia.

They're not easy games.

I think there could be real pressure on them and there could be a call for them to go so that England don't waste the opportunities as it would be seen of a home tournament.

I think the fact there have been so many withdrawals, that's really not a positive sign.

That suggests to me that

that one of the things that Southgate got very right, and I think he doesn't quite get the credit for, is he made England a team that people wanted to play for.

And so those withdrawals, which used to characterise squads, they dried up under Southgate in the first period under Tuchel.

Well, now they appear to be back.

There was a bit of it with Arteta withdrawing Arsenal players last year.

But now other clubs seem to have cottoned on to that.

And so, you know, we've seen Cole Palm withdraw.

We've seen Declan Rice withdraw.

And that's really, I mean, it's not useful in terms of England getting good results in the Nations League.

It's not good in terms of England preparing for the Euros.

But it just sort of suggests that there is something slightly amiss in that structure, that players aren't hammering the door down to get in the squads.

Well, I mean, that's Tuchel's great advantage.

There really isn't anybody.

I mean, Eddie Howe, I guess, is the highest profile English coach.

You might have said Graham Potter three or four years ago, but Graham Potter now seems to have decided he's an adopted Swede and seems extremely happy in Sweden and good luck to him.
