And for a local business owner, I think it's even more anxiety driven because you're like, I don't even understand what this is.
And why did Google even publish this?
And for many SEOs out there, especially SEOs that don't work with local businesses, I'm one of them and I'm guilty of this.
I think that there's this like huge like um
Over reliance on like
evangelizing these moments and like sharing like what Google is doing without like providing any genuine context or helpful guidance to a small business.
Right.
And so it's really created this like kind of nasty um, you know, uh news cycle that candidly I think leaves a lot of uh agencies that manage these businesses and um the business owners and the businesses themselves, the web developers, in in a bit of a vacuum of understanding.
Uh it doesn't help that Google doesn't give us a ton of context when they provide these updates.
And then they say that there's like two weeks of chaos that, you know, hold on to your chair and hope that everything's fine.
But like, what and how do you communicate?
with business owners.
Is there like a different way that we should be thinking about these moments in time?
We're just coming out of this as we're recording.
We just finished up a Google update a few about a week, two weeks ago.
