And Robbo was so prepared because he'd had that tough time.

He had the

the sort of hunger and the desire to prove probably Jurgen wrong, that he should have been playing in the first place.

But he'd also been working on what Jurgen probably wanted from him that he hadn't quite seen yet, which was, I think, 1v1 stuff defensively, but also the quality of his crossing and stuff into the box.

I can remember him working on that.

So all of them little details and little things that people don't see, I think, is huge in...

or an insight into his mentality of how he knew he needed to do them things to then get better, to then get the opportunity and then to stay in a team like Liverpool again with top class players.

So right from early on, I could see the mentality was there to just constantly improve, constantly be better.

And I suppose he probably had that when he started playing Scotland and he went to Hull and then Liverpool.

He probably needed to do that all the way through.

So when he got to Liverpool, it was just another time for him to have to do that on a probably bigger scale and a bigger platform.

But once he then got into the rhythm of coming in, playing games, like I say, he never looked back.

I think you just try and be there for him as a person.

In terms of him not playing and stuff, as a player, you can't really affect it.

That's up to the manager and what he thinks.

So for me, for the other lads, it was more just making sure that...

he still felt a part of the squad because I know what it's like when you're not playing and sometimes he was in the stand, he wasn't even in the squad.

That can be very difficult and you can feel like you're not a part of what's going on, especially if you've just signed where you've been playing every game.
