How was it in joining the show?
after having this experience of it and expectation of it, what was different when you suddenly got dropped into being an employee of The Daily Show?
No, nothing was different.
I thought, you guys don't understand, it's a dream to work on these kind of comedy institutions if you are an American aspiring comedian.
when you're not american it's like beyond a dream it's like impossible it's like another you might as well go to another galaxy you know like how can you ever hope to be on snl or daily show or letterman or any it's like impossible you know so when i got hired i was like this is i couldn't believe it was like beyond a dream coming true
And I was so excited to work at the show and just pour everything I had into it.
I was so thrilled.
And when I was here, it was exactly what I thought it was in the sense that it was the highest level possible of whatever you want to call this.
everyone as soon as I joined the show it became very clear everyone is great at their job they've been doing it a long time you don't want to be the weakest link and you're the dumbest guy in the room most of the time and everyone everyone is at the top of their game whether it's the comics the writers the producers the crew everybody and so in that sense it was exactly what I thought it would be right the hardest thing
in a good way, but also surprisingly collegiate.
I think I was very surprised at how collegiate it was as well.
What do you mean by collegiate?
It was like, despite maintaining a high standards and level of performance required, it was,
Man, I mean, no assholes, no asshole policy.
I think everyone's very supportive.
Correspondence, people don't know, we pitch for each other gladly.
When I came, I was like, pitching, please, take it.
If you take this idea, we want hoarding ideas.
I don't think we will cutthroat.
No one was cutthroat to me other than Hasan Minhaj, who's a piece of shit.
