I noticed that the governor signed SB 182, which is mainly an education bill concerning charter schools and things of that nature, but it also has a provision for everyone's awareness that private schools of students of 150 or less

um i believe have to be approved administratively or cannot be allowed to uh or required to uh apply for a special exception and what have you and so it facilitates a more efficient process for private schools of 150 students or less within commercial areas of a city in in state of florida so i just wanted to put that on everyone's radar sb 182.

In the absence of an environmental expert to talk today, I wonder if this council would be interested in passing this with a condition that the community's concerns be answered explicitly to the county commission.

And I appreciate the discussion.

And I think we all understand that the environmental regulations are pretty

strict and specific here on what remediation needs to take place and obviously this application like others and other golf course redevelopments would be required to uphold all of those requirements.

But getting back to the application, it is great to see the voluntary commitment with regards to the number of dwelling units, the commercial use, and the over 65 net acres

of remaining golf course to be used as a private park for the Carolina club community.

So this is a real great win-win.

I've seen golf course redevelopments in my city where

There's a large dedication for public park.

And it ends up resulting in a beautiful addition to the surrounding area and, of course, to the new community that comes in.

So wholehearted support for the application because it does meet those best practices of golf course conversions that I believe about almost 20 years ago some factors had been introduced.

And this application certainly upholds all of those.

So I'd like to make a motion to approve the application as recommended by staff without requiring a second planning council public hearing.
