So that's kind of how that book changed my life a bit.

I hope I've kind of explained that that makes sense.

And I'm worried that I don't want to be indulged in saying that you have to suffer to learn.

You do suffer and life's hard and sometimes you can't avoid all those hard things.

Sometimes things happen to you that you can't avoid, but sometimes out of nowhere you just find yourself in a darker place.

But I think there's hope there too, I think, in those dark places.

There's a little bit of light that you can grab onto and you can come out of that.

The reason I'm kind of was awkward or nervous about reading this out is that I feel like I'm referring to like a myth that I was holding on to and I think it's so far from –

My vision of your life, I think, that I held on for too long is probably incredibly inaccurate to what your life is really like.

And I think it undermines how...

Ironically, it actually undermines how brilliant you are in other ways.

Like it doesn't give enough respect to your – to how amazing you have – how hard life would have been for you in different spots and how empathetic and how much you notice things and how caring you are and all that kind of stuff.

I think it's too much – it's a one-dimensional picture of –

I think that a child has that actually is not doing justice to the brilliance of the person.

Oh, yeah, maybe.

Potentially, yeah, as a way of finding who I am maybe.

Yeah.

Well, I think it is simplistic, I think, because I think as a kid and growing up, it's as simple as, well, life looks great for him, so I'll do those things and that will make life easy.
