And that lesson, I think, has insufficiently been taught to this community.
But again, it's between 15 and 34,000 Haitians.
How exactly are you going to do that when they all show up in the span of a few months and there are a select few, like basically fewer than about a half dozen to a dozen individuals who have built vast fortunes off of the presence of the Haitians of Springfield?
It's not exactly something that you might call a conspiracy.
But what it is is naked opportunism, naked opportunism.
And the city benefits as an organization, as an impersonal entity, the city benefits from all this presence of new people because now they get to plan and say, look how fast we're growing as a community.
Right.
Look at all the business that we can now attract.
Look at all the land that we can develop and purchase.
Look at all the data centers that we can build.
That's a new thing that people are upset about, is these new housing developments being built.
And then there's a data center going up right next to it.
And the people who had bought those houses didn't know about the data center.
And so now their backyard is this vast...
industrial complex, okay?
A data center, you know, smoke and steam and all this stuff.
That's a great backyard view because there had been a forest there previously.
So now you've got dozens of people upset about that.
It is just frankly a mess.
