So to your question, I would feel good about him starting just because I think the alternatives right now are either Mamu or Jake LaRavia.

And I see massive issues with both where Jake LaRavia, I have real questions of him being even a rotation guy in a playoff series, let alone a starter on a team that fancies itself as a contender.

Mamu, I just don't.

again, you're in a situation where now Luka or Mamu is your wing stopper, which just doesn't make any sense.

Or you're putting that on Quinton Grimes.

And then if you're playing a team that has multiple scores, like there's only so many fires that he could put out on the perimeter.

And then obviously you're trying to funnel things through Walker Kessler.

So I would say if it ends up being Kaminga, I'm open to that.

Even like the flawed, imperfect version of Kaminga, I would take over the current

iteration of this group I think it would slot things in nicely but comparing him to PJ Washington like I just think PJ Washington is a better defender a more consistent stable defender better rebounder knows his role better offensively and there's a proof of concept with him with Luca and being a starting level wing on a Luca led team going to the finals so he's also locked in for four years so I know the Lakers apparently think that's too long or they don't like the contract but

I think PJ for four years, 88 million, that's like the going rate for a player of his caliber.

And you already have multiple guys on four-year deals locked in.

So like that would be your starting four.

And when we talk about the Lakers off season, I would look at the off season completely differently.

If coming out of this, it's like you got Kessler, you got PJ Washington, your four and your five are locked in for four years.

And now you got your six, seven, eight with Grimes, Mamou and Sexton.

I'd feel really good about that.

Then the final piece is that starting three, you need to acquire that by the deadline or next summer or whatever.

But then you have like seven of your top eight guys and I'd feel pretty good.

And maybe Cameron Carr becomes that guy or maybe Adu becomes that guy.
