JT, um,
At other points in your career, you have fought that fight for catcher salaries and whatnot.
I wonder, at this stage of your career, in this particular free agency, what was your priority?
What was your biggest priority?
Was it going to a place where you had a chance to win?
Was it still fighting for catcher salaries and setting the bar or helping to raise it?
What was your priority this time around?
It was less about setting a bar or raising anything, you know, because I mean, I know I'm pretty self-aware.
I didn't have the last couple of years.
I haven't really been happy with my performance.
So it was more it was about my family for me and their comfort and how much we love Philadelphia and
Like I said, there was only a short period of time this offseason where I even thought I wasn't coming back to Philadelphia.
The whole time, this is where we wanted to be, and things got a little hairy there at the end, but I'm glad we're back here, and this is where we want to be the whole time.
So really my focus was just on my legacy here and being able to finish my career with the Phillies and not having to uproot my family and start over.
When you said it kind of got hairy at the end there, I mean, were you kind of –
Were you kind of lining up, you know, other possibilities as well at that point?
Or how quickly could you have potentially moved, pivoted if you had to?
