Yeah, I really do.
Not to be blunt, but being 32 years old and having $30,000 in your super is
it is low.
And that's not a bad thing in the way that, you know, we should panic, but it's definitely something that you need to acknowledge and be proactive about what you do to change that position.
It's not so much the balance that you've got now, it's the compounding effect of that over the next 30 years.
So that
$30,000 now compared to someone who maybe has $70,000 or $80,000.
Every single year, you're going to get further and further behind, which ultimately is going to put you in a different position to someone who could be sitting in the exact same position now.
So making conscious efforts to add more to it is going to put you in a better position later on.
So the average in Australia for someone who's about 32 sits at around $55,000.
Okay.
So $25,000 more than where you are at the moment.
Yeah.
Most people would say tax.
And I'm not going to obviously shy away that tax is a benefit of it.
And for clarity on that, money that goes into the superannuation environment is generally taxed at 15% on all contributions in as well as the earnings.
So the dividends and an interest that you make inside the fund are also taxed at 15%.
compared to what we have in our personal name.
So I'm going to use your situation.
You're on a 32% marginal tax rate.
