If we can put it into words, that really helps a child in so many ways.
It helps them calm down.
It helps them understand that somebody gets it.
It helps them learn what you can say and what you can do when you have these feelings.
And what are these feelings?
Sometimes kids get really flooded with strong emotions.
Yes, yes.
Sometimes my parents will say to me, well, he knows how to do it.
He just did it this morning.
And the truth is, yeah, he did it this morning when he was fresh.
And
afternoon when he's not so fresh, he can't do it anymore.
Or, you know, there's so development is not linear.
You know, I think of it as like you can do two steps forward, one step back kind of image that kids will learn how to do something, but they can't do it all the time.
And think about it.
It's true for us, too.
You know, sometimes parents will say to me, well, I know I shouldn't yell at my kids, but sometimes I just lose it.
I'm like, yes, that happens to all of us.
And it happens to our kids.
And the fact that you know what happens to you, you'll have more empathy for
